Almost everyone can say they’ve scrolled through Pinterest or TikTok to find outfit inspo, photo inspo, or even meal inspo. We live in an age where the sum of all human information and creativity lies right at our fingertips. With the rise of AI, you don’t even have to put down your phone to create an image or text. So the question is, have we reached the end?

There was a time when the only way you could see a famous painting was by checking out a book or traveling thousands of miles to see it in person. Before OOTDs, you took fashion trends from the people around you in your hometown. But now we have more creative inspo than we know what to do with. It’s really a double-edged sword. We can get overwhelmed with a sea of art and music, but on the upside, we are encouraged to create more.

The truth is, art doesn’t exist in a vacuum. If you’re waiting for a fully original idea to just pop into your head, then you’ll be waiting a long time. Art builds off itself; If you see a work that speaks to you, you store that idea in the back of your mind and produce a piece that encapsulates your being. Even something as simple as a font or location is enough to get your creative mind ticking.

Take a look at these Beyoncé concert outfits:

This is a concert-goer's (Chelsee Connor) Cowboy Carter-inspired outfit. They were inspired not just by the Cowboy Carter aesthetic, but southern country fashion as a whole. This shows the creative process at work. You have something to build off of, you do your research, and then you put your own twist on it. Then the result is something wonderfully unique and inspiring to others! As she told Vogue, “I used this designer Carmalita Brown, she’s a designer from Lafayette, Louisinan, and told her three words: Beyoncé, denim and bold. From the hat to the chaps, she made everything.”

So you ask yourself, is this the most creative we can be? If I have any authority on the subject, I’d say that it’s only growing exponentially. Some people might find it hard to be “original,” but I think this era is the golden age of artistic inspiration.
